Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Mewes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rodney Carney!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carney steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mewes.
Mewes lands a really nice looking cross but Carney seems unphased.
The crowd cheers as Mewes lands an impressive looking overhand right. Carney doesn't seem phased though.
Mewes connects with a crisp jab.

Carney closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Carney is keen to just control but Mewes is a slippery customer.
Mewes avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Carney.
Mewes holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Carney is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Carney is working for a submission of some sort.
Carney is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Mewes reverses the position - he's now on top in Carney's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carney is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Mewes drops back, looking for a kneebar! Carney looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Carney looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Carney!

You can see the frustration on Mewes's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Carney misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Carney wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mewes keeps working.
Mewes tries to buck Carney off but Carney is having none of it.
Mewes prevents Carney from moving into mount.
Carney working the body and head with strikes.
Carney moves into full mount!

Carney with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Carney looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Carney looking to ground and pound but Mewes is blocking nicely.
Carney scores with a couple of good head shots there.
A nice elbow there by Carney.
Carney lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Mewes taking shots to the head.
Carney thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Mewes can't escape the position.
Mewes slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Carney is pressing down on Mewes's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mewes is holding on for now.

Mewes is trying to stand.
Mewes won't allow Carney to pass to mount.
Mewes trying to control but Carney postures up.

Carney looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Carney throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rodney Carney dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Mewes misses with an uppercut.
Mewes connects with a body shot.
Mewes dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Carney scores with a crisp jab that stopped Mewes in his tracks.
Carney on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Carney keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Mewes.
Carney throws a hook but Mewes blocks it.
Carney cracks a nice hook into Mewes's ribs.
Carney swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Nice defenses there by Carney.
Mewes moves out of range of the strikes.
Jason Mewes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Some wild striking there from Carney.
Mewes scores with a nice strike.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A nice combination there by Mewes.
Mewes throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Mewes walks into a stiff left hand from Carney.
A jab lands there for Mewes.

A shot to the liver by Mewes. Beautiful body shot.
Carney tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mewes was well out of range. Poor timing from Carney.

Carney misses with a body shot.
No joy there for Carney, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Carney misses with a straight right.
Carney ducks under a wild hook from Mewes.
Carney defending well as Mewes loads up on a big left hand.
Mewes takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Carney fails with the takedown.
Carney looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Carney slips under a jab from Mewes.
Mewes lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Mewes digs a good body shot into Carney's ribs.
Carney is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mewes tests Carney's chin there with a solid looking shot.


Carney is rocked!
Mewes lands a brutal uppercut that launches Carney off his feet! Carney tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jason Mewes!
An out of breath Jason Mewes thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
Rodney Carney was interviewed post fight and said 'I fought a terrific fighter tonight, and he got me good. I could have come up with a better performance but he just was better tonight. Thanks for having me'.
