Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nate Newman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amis Pelle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Nate Newman has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Nate Newman seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Newman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Newman is pressing down on Pelle's thigh, looking to free his foot. Pelle is holding on for now.
Newman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pelle does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Newman is looking to advance position but Pelle won't allow it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Newman has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Newman stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Newman is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Pelle doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Newman.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Pelle is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Pelle tries to bum rush Newman with a series of wild strikes but Newman uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Pelle throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Newman.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Newman drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Newman jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Newman is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Newman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Newman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The referee asks Newman politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Newman prefers to stall for the moment though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well Newman has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
