Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Chavez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zoey Malone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malone is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Boy Named Sue - Johnny Cash. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malone pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Chavez is looking to clinch but Malone is avoiding it.
Chavez lands a glancing blow to the side of Malone's head.

It looks like Zoey Malone has been cut.
Chavez tries to clinch but Malone is having none of it.
Malone lands a front kick.
Chavez misses with a wild body shot.

Malone feints and as Chavez raises his hands in defense, Malone changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Chavez wants to sweep but no luck.
Malone slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Chavez is pulling down on Malone's head to control his posture.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Malone stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chavez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Chavez wants to clinch up but Malone keeps it at a distance.
Malone has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Chavez pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Malone back to the cage. Chavez follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
A looping hook to the body misses from Malone. Chavez does a little dance to reset his feet.
Malone shoots in for a double leg but Chavez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Chavez uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

That has opened up Zoey Malone's cut even more.

Chavez pushes Malone back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Malone is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Chavez defends it well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Malone tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Malone has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Chavez gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Chavez is looking to control Malone's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Chavez avoid being mounted?

Malone is working for a kimura but Chavez is defending it quite comfortably.
Chavez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Malone is trying to control the action in half guard but Chavez is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Chavez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Malone paws at him with a jab and circles away.
