Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Goldsmith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Ngo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Goldsmith comes to the cage accompanied by Dos Equis. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 30 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jonathan Goldsmith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Henry Ngo!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ngo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Goldsmith swivels and escapes.
Ngo shoots in but no luck this time.
Ngo shoots in looking for a takedown but Goldsmith manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ngo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Jonathan Goldsmith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Henry Ngo.
Ngo closes the distance and clinches up with Goldsmith, looking for a takedown. Ngo pushes Goldsmith against the cage but Goldsmith circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nice takedown defense from Ngo. No joy for Goldsmith on that attempt.

Goldsmith shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Goldsmith was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Ngo tries to get to full guard but Goldsmith has control of the leg.
Ngo moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ngo looking for a sweep. Not yet Ngo, not yet.
Goldsmith has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ngo is proving hard to escape from.
Goldsmith has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Ngo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Goldsmith gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ngo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Ngo wants to sweep but no luck.

Ngo looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ngo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Goldsmith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ngo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Goldsmith leaves Ngo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Goldsmith lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Goldsmith tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ngo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Goldsmith looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Ngo shoots in looking for a takedown but Goldsmith manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ngo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Ngo drives through and clinches with Goldsmith against the cage.

Ngo lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Goldsmith down.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Goldsmith is working to avoid the ground and pound but Ngo connects with a decent elbow.
Goldsmith is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Ngo stands up.
Ngo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Goldsmith as he jumps to the side.
Goldsmith went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Goldsmith is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ngo can do to turn this around?
Ngo looks for a takedown but Goldsmith sprawls well.

Ngo bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Goldsmith is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Ngo asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
