Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bogie McGill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takeshi Watanabe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Watanabe's choice of entrance music: The Handsome Family - Far From Any Road. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 14 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Takeshi Watanabe!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGill avoids a punch combination nicely.
McGill attempts a counter takedown but Watanabe avoids it well and moves away.
Watanabe swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Takeshi Watanabe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Watanabe misses with a double jab

and McGill decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Watanabe's guard.
Watanabe is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

McGill slips a nice elbow through Watanabe's hands, connecting with Watanabe's forehead.

Watanabe is desperately trying to improve his position but McGill has a good base and remains in mount.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

McGill has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Watanabe has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
McGill keeps control of the position easily here as Watanabe tries to buck him off.

Oooooh!!! Watanabe has knocked McGill down with a huge combo! Watanabe steps away and waves a wobbly McGill back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


It looks like Bogie McGill has been cut.
Watanabe throws a left and a right that both miss
and McGill counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Watanabe drops McGill with a beautiful combination! McGill stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Watanabe is looking for the KO!


McGill is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Watanabe throws a series of punches but McGill moves out of range.
Oh McGill is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Watanabe fails to land with a series of punches.

and McGill cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Watanabe tries to keep at a distance but McGill has taken the fight into the clinch.
McGill seems to have got his legs back now.
McGill is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Watanabe can do to turn this around?
McGill lands a knee to the body.

McGill keeps control of Watanabe as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Watanabe wants to break free but McGill has control.

Our sources have told us that McGill has been working on his elbows in the gym.
