PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mr Chrome (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Red (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Red has chosen Method Man and Redman - Da Rockwilder as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Mr Red is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mr Chrome!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mr Red!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chrome moves away from the strike by Red.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Chrome.
Red looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Red swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Red throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Chrome.

Red closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Chrome did well to prevent Red getting side control.
Chrome is trying to control but can't.
Chrome wants to get back to full guard but Red has passed into side control.
Chrome manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Red is figuring out what he wants to do next.
My spies in The Nine Worlds inform me that Red has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Red seems to be working for a kimura but Chrome defends the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Red is looking to advance position but Chrome won't allow it.
Chrome wants to control but Red is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Red scores with a jab to the head.

It looks like Mr Chrome has been cut.
Red is trying hard to land a takedown here. Chrome sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
A looping hook to the body misses from Red. Chrome does a little dance to reset his feet.
Chrome attempts a counter takedown but Red avoids it well and moves away.
Red fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Chrome manages to avoid it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Red throws a body shot but no joy.
Chrome changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Chrome connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Red shoots for a takedown but Chrome saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Chrome swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mr Red dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Mr Chrome's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Chrome keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Chrome scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Red doesn't seem bothered though.

Chrome is looking to wear down Red with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chrome lunges at Red with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Red's hand.
Red jabs Chrome to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Chrome throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Red was covering up waiting for the punch and Chrome finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Chrome in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Chrome is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Red is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Red has escaped and now he's on top!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Chrome wants to sweep here but Red controlling him for the moment.

Chrome escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Red gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Chrome looking for subs off his back but Red has passed one foot through into half guard.
Chrome has a hand on Red's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Red takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Red avoids the attempt from Chrome to control.

Red tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Red fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Red has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Mr Chrome's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Mr Red!
Mr Red bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
