Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cant Name (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Ashton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Daniel Cesar and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Name uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ashton.
Ashton misses the shot to the body.
Name attempts a counter takedown but Ashton avoids it well and moves away.

Ashton darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Ashton not landing any meaningful shots this time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Name is bucking up trying to escape but Ashton cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Ashton looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Name knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ashton on the ground.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ashton winds up and cracks Name with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Horrible takedown attempt by Ashton or perhaps it was just good defense by Name, which made it look bad.

Ashton feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Ashton is in close to Name's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Ashton has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Ashton postures up and lands a big shot to Name's brow.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Ashton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Eric Ashton is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Eric Ashton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ashton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A less than humble Eric Ashton misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
