The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dickens is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Dickens walks into a left hand.

It looks like Oliver Dickens has been cut.
A combination from Dickens does no damage.
Lidstrom avoids the body shot from Dickens.
Nicklas Lidstrom seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lidstrom goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Lidstrom connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

and Dickens counters with a single leg into guard. Lidstrom didn't expect that.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dickens not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Lidstrom wants to stand up but Dickens is controlling him.

Lidstrom knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dickens on the ground.

Dickens stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lidstrom swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dickens lands a couple of elbows.
Lidstrom wants to stand and escape but Dickens is having none of it.
Dickens connects with a couple of short punches.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dickens prevents Lidstrom from getting back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lidstrom looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
A left lands for Lidstrom.
Dickens misses with a body kick.
Lidstrom throws out a loose jab but Dickens uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dickens moves out of range as Lidstrom strikes.

and Dickens counters with a takedown into side control.
Dickens gets to mount! Lidstrom was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Dickens looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Lidstrom tries to hold on but Dickens pushes him away.
Dickens postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lidstrom looks a forlorn figure.

Dickens wants to control the pace but Lidstrom is squirming around nicely.

Nicklas Lidstrom's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Dickens cracks Lidstrom with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Jeez, Nicklas Lidstrom's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Nicklas Lidstrom's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
