The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Charrua drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Charrua is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Charrua pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dean is keeping the position for now.
Dean really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dean tries to close the distance and clinch but Charrua swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Charrua is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Dean's half guard.
Dean is breathing heavily.
Charrua tries to pass to full mount but Dean defends it.
Charrua lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Charrua is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dean sees it coming and defends easily.
Charrua looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dean with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Charrua is trying for a kimura here. Dean looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Charrua wins by kimura!
