Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rogelio Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Pow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rogelio Knight has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rogelio Knight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Pow!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pow thows a leg kick but Knight checks it

and Knight counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Pow trying to hold on to Knight's head to control him but Knight postures up.

Knight is looking for a kimura here.
Pow is trying to stand back up but Knight is controlling him
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pow wants to get back to full guard.

Knight decides to stand up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pow moves to clinch but Knight breaks away

so Knight counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Pow tries to strike from the bottom.

Pow has an active guard here but Knight has managed to pass into half guard.
Knight prevents Pow from improving his position.
Knight throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Knight decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pow swinging wildly here.
Pow scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Pow gets a double leg takedown into Knight's guard.
Pow looks winded!
Knight trying to control the position.
Pow wants to pass the guard but Knight is keeping the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Knight pulls Pow in close to his closed guard and prevents Pow from doing any damage or advancing position.

Knight wants to sweep but no luck.
Pow is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Knight is trying to control the position but Pow postures up.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Pow is looking to work some ground and pound but Knight has wrist control.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Pow lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Pow is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Knight's half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pow seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Knight does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Pow throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Knight really is a fat lump.
Pow wants to stand up but Knight has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Pow wants to advance to full mount but Knight doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Knight is trying to keep Pow in close.
Pow trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Knight has his hands on Pow's head, controlling the position.
Knight tries to land a sweep but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Rogelio Knight will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Pow drives through and clinches with Knight against the cage.

Pow pulls guard successfully.
Pow not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Pow isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Knight stacks Pow on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Knight!
Pow tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Knight presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pow is breathing heavily.
Pow is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Knight postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Pow looks a forlorn figure.
Pow avoids a series of strikes thrown by Knight.
Knight avoids the attempt from Pow to control.
Knight thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Pow is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Knight sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Pow is desperately trying to improve his position but Knight has a good base and remains in mount.

Knight punching from mount but Pow doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Pow is wriggling around trying to escape.
Knight thowing shots but they're missing.
Knight lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Pow hang on?
Pow tries to hold on but Knight pushes him away.
Pow is trying to stand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pow tries to reverse the position but Knight maintains control.
Knight thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

Knight looking for a guillotine from mount but Pow is having none of it.
Rogelio Knight overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Knight looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Pow tries to improve his position but Knight has taken his back! Knight has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Pow tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Knight pushes Pow away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Rogelio Knight!
