The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gustaffson pushes Hanson up against the cage in a clinch.
Gustaffson tries to score a body lock takedown but Hanson shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Hanson misses with a punch on the inside.
Gustaffson stalling the fight.
Gustaffson is looking to control Hanson's arms but Hanson gets an underhook and turns him. Now Gustaffson has his back to the cage.
Gustaffson blocks an uppercut.

Gustaffson turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Hanson is trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hanson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Hanson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Gustaffson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Hanson is refusing to be controlled, as Gustaffson sits in half guard.
Hanson tries to kick Gustaffson off but Gustaffson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Gustaffson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gustaffson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Hanson tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Gustaffson jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Hanson is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Hanson and Gustaffson has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Hanson tries to kick Gustaffson off but Gustaffson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Hanson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Gustaffson scores with a couple of nice shots.
Gustaffson wants to advance to full mount but Hanson doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Gustaffson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hanson dives on top into guard.

Gustaffson is looking to sinch up a triangle. Hanson throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Gustaffson's body to avoid the submission. Gustaffson has instead reached around Hanson's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Gustaffson arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
