Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Thompan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George SP (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompan slips a jab and a cross from SP.
Thompan looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
SP checks a low kick from Thompan.
SP shoots in but no luck this time.

SP throws a leg kick but Thompan moved away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
SP throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from SP lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Thompan has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Thompan and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

SP must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

and Thompan counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. SP is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Thompan is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but SP pulls his head out easily.
SP wants to pass to mount but Thompan is defending the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
SP uses his free foot to push down on Thompan's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Thompan.

SP lands a big shot there that rocks Thompan but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

SP throws a right and a left that both miss.
No joy there for SP, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Thompan counters with a head kick. That will keep SP thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

SP fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Thompan sprawls well initially but SP persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

SP is taking a breather. Thompan says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
SP has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
SP fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

SP throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

George SP comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well SP has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
