And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleksei Gerakov Jr!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Illya Tyunina and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gerakov Jr scores with a takedown into Woodward's guard.
Woodward has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Woodward might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Gerakov Jr with a flurry of punches that miss.
Gerakov Jr trying to control the position from guard on top but Woodward is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gerakov Jr accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Woodward looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Gerakov Jr tries to free his leg and advance position but Woodward is retaining full guard.

Gerakov Jr wants to control from the top but Woodward keeps moving.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Woodward closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Woodward misses with a knee to the head.
Woodward trying to stall but Gerakov Jr improves his position.
Woodward has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Gerakov Jr avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Gerakov Jr working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Woodward could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Gerakov Jr manages to break the clinch.

Gerakov Jr shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Woodward manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Woodward has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Gerakov Jr doesn't defend quickly enough and Woodward has managed to lock this one up! Can Gerakov Jr escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Woodward on a fantastic submission victory.
