Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fidel Vinnyeta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Royce Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fidel Vinnyeta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Royce Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Illya Tyunina and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vinnyeta shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Vinnyeta was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Gracie tries to reverse the position but Vinnyeta maintains control.
Gracie is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Vinnyeta can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gracie is looking to escape.
Gracie throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.

Vinnyeta is working for a guillotine from mount but Gracie frees his head quite easily.
Gracie holds of for dear life.
Gracie can't escape the position.
Vinnyeta misses with a head shot.
Gracie tries to improve his position but instead Vinnyeta has taken his back!

Vinnyeta wants to stand and escape but Gracie is having none of it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Vinnyeta won't allow Gracie to sweep him here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Vinnyeta closes the distance and clinches up with Gracie, looking for a takedown. Vinnyeta pushes Gracie against the cage but Gracie circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Vinnyeta shoots in for a takedown but Gracie shows good takedown defense.

Gracie closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gracie lands in his opponent's guard.
Vinnyeta has control of Gracie's left arm, preventing Gracie from doing any damage.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Vinnyeta keeps moving.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

A close round but Royce Gracie will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Gracie darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Vinnyeta is trying to get back to full guard.
Gracie seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Vinnyeta does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Gracie looking to control but Vinnyeta is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Vinnyeta is trying desperately to improve position.

Gracie is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Vinnyeta has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Gracie controlling the position easily from mount.
Gracie wants to control but instead Vinnyeta manages to regain half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Gracie is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Vinnyeta is doing well to control the position and prevent Gracie from advancing to side control.

Gracie decides to return to a standing position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vinnyeta misses with a takedown

and Gracie counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Vinnyeta's guard now.
Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vinnyeta swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Vinnyeta has his foot on Gracie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gracie works his way back into a safe position though.

Gracie looking to sit in guard and control but Vinnyeta gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Vinnyeta wants to stand but Gracie is controlling his posture from full guard.

Royce Gracie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Vinnyeta shoots for a double leg takedown but Gracie sprawls well. He's pushed Vinnyeta's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Vinnyeta keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Gracie takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Vinnyeta moves into the clinch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Gracie wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Vinnyeta escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Gracie throws a left and a right that both miss

and Vinnyeta counters with a shoot takedown. Gracie fights it but they end up in guard.

Gracie can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Vinnyeta controls the pace.
Vinnyeta's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Gracie manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Gracie is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Vinnyeta has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Vinnyeta!
