PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Deangelo Sturtsil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Mega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mega has chosen Black and Yellow as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Mega does no damage.
Sturtsil doesn't succeed with the takedown
enabling Mega to counter with a crisp jab.
Sturtsil shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mega but Mega pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sturtsil fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mega avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Deangelo Sturtsil. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sturtsil looks for the body kick but Mega saw that one coming.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mega can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sturtsil has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Sturtsil tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sturtsil has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Sturtsil swings around for an armbar but Mega sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Sturtsil's guard.
Sturtsil pulls Mega in close to his closed guard and prevents Mega from doing any damage or advancing position.

Sturtsil had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mega defends it easily.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Mega throws a big elbow that misses.

Sturtsil is looking to cinch up a triangle. Mega throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Sturtsil's body to avoid the submission. Sturtsil has instead reached around Mega's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Sturtsil arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
