Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Donald Delacruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jace Malnon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jace Malnon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Donald Delacruz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jace Malnon!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Fedor Mirinova and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malnon finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Malnon is looking to score with low kicks.
Malnon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Delacruz's waist but Delacruz gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Malnon off to one side.

Malnon shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Delacruz manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Malnon prevents Delacruz from getting back to his feet.
Delacruz keeping moving, preventing Malnon from controlling successfully.
Malnon pushes down on Delacruz's leg and manages to get into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Delacruz could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Malnon tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Delacruz.
Delacruz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Malnon on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Delacruz wants to get back to full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Malnon tries a head kick but it misses.
Malnon closes the distance looking to clinch
and Delacruz counters with a three punch combo that has Malnon backing up. Malnon nods at Delacruz to acknowledge the strikes.

Delacruz went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Malnon rushes Delacruz and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Delacruz gets underhooks to prevent Malnon's takedown attempt.

Delacruz successfully pulls guard.
Malnon pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Delacruz is keeping the position for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Malnon drives through and clinches with Delacruz against the cage.

Delacruz has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Malnon uses from the top position.

Delacruz has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Malnon off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Malnon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Delacruz as he avoids it easily.
Delacruz seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Donald Delacruz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jace Malnon.

That was a close round but I would say that Donald Delacruz will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Malnon shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Malnon is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Delacruz's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Delacruz's back!

Malnon is trying to stick to Delacruz's back but Delacruz is turning into Malnon. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Malnon's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Delacruz.

Delacruz with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Malnon throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Delacruz escapes and throws Malnon's legs to the side, diving into side control!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Delacruz is looking to take a break and control but Malnon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That was a close second round but I would say that Donald Delacruz will probably get the nod.

Delacruz looking to sit in guard and control but Malnon gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Delacruz, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
