Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joao Tostao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Angelico (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nathan Angelico will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tostao feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Tostao controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Angelico wants to stand but Tostao is controlling the position.
Tostao controls from within his opponent's guard.
Tostao won't allow Angelico to get back to his feet.

Tostao makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Angelico manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Angelico wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Angelico really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tostao. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Tostao is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Angelico's shoulder. That is not cool.

Tostao thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Angelico is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Tostao asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Angelico takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Tostao content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

The fight stays on the outside here - Angelico looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Tostao tries to counter with a takedown but Angelico is quick to defend against it.

Angelico throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tostao tries to close the distance and clinch but Angelico swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Tostao throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Angelico's waist but Angelico gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tostao off to one side.

Nathan Angelico seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Angelico fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tostao, pushing him back against the cage.

Tostao fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Angelico sprawls well initially but Tostao persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Tostao seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Angelico does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Angelico is trying to get back to his feet but Tostao has full control of the position and if anything, Angelico has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Tostao is cranking Angelico's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Angelico! He's tightened the choke and Angelico is tapping out!
