And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kaupe Akuapehuale!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Reed Andrews and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Futter tries for a takedown but Akuapehuale circles away easily
and Akuapehuale counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Futter looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Futter with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Futter seems to be looking for submissions.
Futter is thwarting Akuapehuale's attempts to control the position.
Futter is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Akuapehuale defends it well.
Well, if Futter is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Akuapehuale told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Futter seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Futter is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Akuapehuale tries to roll over but Futter keeps him under control.
Akuapehuale is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Futter looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Akuapehuale is looking for a sweep. Futter is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Akuapehuale is in trouble now - Futter has advanced to mount!
Futter controlling the pace for now.
Akuapehuale is trying desperately to improve position.
Akuapehuale wants to hold on but Futter pushes him away.
Futter sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Futter is working for a guillotine from mount but Akuapehuale frees his head quite easily.
Futter working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Akuapehuale turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Futter off and cradles Akuapehuale's limp body as Futter celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Buck Futter!
A less than humble Buck Futter misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
