PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ongka Ongka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valeriy Grushevky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ongka's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Abebe. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ongka Ongka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Valeriy Grushevky!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Dmitry Maklakov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ongka lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Grushevky has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Grushevky and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Ongka throws a leg kick that is checked

and Grushevky counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Ongka is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Grushevky is aware though and is defending well.

Ongka looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Ongka fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Grushevky is out of range.

Ongka tried to counter with a leg kick but Grushevky avoided it.
Grushevky moves in looking to clinch but Ongka pushes him off.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

After the fight, Ongka Ongka was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
