The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Urskilz swats away the attempt to clinch by Vasara.
Urskilz fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Vasara has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Urskilz throws a leg kick that misses.
Vasara slips a straight right by Urskilz.
Vasara takes one to the chin there.


It looks like Sami Vasara has been cut.
Urskilz stuns Vasara with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Vasara throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Vasara misses the shot to the body.
Urskilz connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Vasara momentarily.
Vasara blocks the body kick.
Vasara tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Urskilz was well out of range. Poor timing from Vasara.
Urskilz's coach down at THC playhouse was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Urskilz's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Vasara tries a head kick but it misses.
Urskilz lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Vasara is looking to slow Urskilz down with leg kicks.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Urskilz swats away the attempt to clinch by Vasara.
Urskilz tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Vasara moves to clinch but Urskilz breaks away

so Urskilz counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.


Vasara is rocked!

Urskilz loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Vasara lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Urskilz is trying to keep Vasara in close.

Urskilz is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Urskilz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Urskilz circles away from the clinch attempt.
Urskilz jabs Vasara right on the nose. Vasara blinks but takes it well.
Vasara avoids the head kick by Urskilz.
Urskilz throws a lazy head kick
and Vasara counters with a right hand to the body.
Vasara thumps Urskilz with a low kick.
Urskilz darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Urskilz counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Vasara tries to clinch up.
Urskilz does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Urskilz throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Vasara tries to clinch but Urskilz moves out of range.
Urskilz throws a looping overhand right but Vasara ducks down to avoid it.
Urskilz lands a nice shot to the body.
Vasara tries to clinch up but Urskilz circles away and keeps his distance.
Vasara on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Urskilz. Urskilz obviously looking to wear him down.
Vasara tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Urskilz scores with a jab.
Vasara takes a swing at Urskilz's ribcage but misses.
Urskilz looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Vasara misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Urskilz throws a strike but Vasara rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Urskilz wants to improve his position but Vasara is controlling well.

Vasara stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Urskilz to get to his feet.
Vasara swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Urskilz slips a jab and a cross from Vasara.
Vasara tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Urskilz throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Vasara sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Urskilz takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Vasara closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Urskilz has Vasara pushed against the cage.
Urskilz stalling.
The crowd are getting on Urskilz's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.
Vasara throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Urskilz blocks it with crossed arms.
Vasara prevents a body shot from Urskilz.
Urskilz has a couple of punches blocked by Vasara.
Vasara misses with a punch to the body.
Vasara tries to break free but Urskilz pushes him back against the cage.
A nice left hand lands by Urskilz.
Urskilz lands with a light punch inside.
Urskilz content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Urskilz is trying to maintain a safe position but Vasara gets an underhook and turns Urskilz into the cage.
Urskilz landing some nice looking knees to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Vasara wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Urskilz.
Vasara is trying to break the clinch but Urskilz is controlling him.

Urskilz keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Vasara's efforts to push away.

Vasara breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Urskilz fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Vasara.
Urskilz paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Urskilz connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Oh Vasara is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Vasara moves into the clinch.
Vasara seems to have got his legs back now.
Urskilz throws a knee to the head but misses.
Urskilz stalling against the cage.
Urskilz works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Urskilz lands a hook that snaps the head of Vasara backwards.


Sami Vasara's cut is getting worse.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Urskilz.

Vasara manages to break the clinch.
Urskilz lands with a nice body punch.
Urskilz lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Urskilz drops Vasara with a straight right hand, right on the button! Urskilz follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 8:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ilafat Urskilz!
An out of breath Ilafat Urskilz thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
