PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jace Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jace Armstrong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matt Walker!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Bruno Hogan and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Armstrong slaps away a takedown attempt from Walker, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Armstrong is looking to counter the offense by Walker and move into the clinch.
Armstrong uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Walker.

Armstrong fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Walker, pushing him back against the cage.
Armstrong tries to pull guard but Walker holds him up against the cage and eventually Armstrong drops back down to his feet.
Walker prevents the takedown attempt.
Armstrong is trying to maintain a safe position but Walker gets an underhook and turns Armstrong into the cage.
Walker managing to block the knees to the body from Armstrong.
Armstrong has Walker pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Walker manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Walker shoots in for a takedown but Armstrong shows good takedown defense.

Walker shoots in and gets a takedown into Armstrong's guard.
Walker in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Armstrong is trying to keep Walker in close.
Walker postures up in Armstrong's guard and throws a big left but Armstrong blocks it.
Armstrong controls Walker momentarily but Walker frees himself.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Armstrong is on top in guard.

Armstrong won't allow Walker to get back to his feet.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Walker is defended easily by Armstrong.

Armstrong bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Walker's head backwards.
Armstrong tries to score a power double leg takedown but Walker sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Armstrong somewhat.

Walker thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Armstrong misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Armstrong is not content to let Walker control the position.
Armstrong tries to get to full guard but Walker has control of the leg.

Matt Walker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Walker is refusing to be controlled, as Armstrong sits in half guard.

Walker throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Armstrong's waist but Armstrong gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Walker off to one side.
It looked like Armstrong was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Walker.

I would just about give that final round to Matt Walker.
