Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ska Asap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mustafa Shabazz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Ska Asap!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Mustafa Shabazz!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Sam Margolis and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asap misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Shabazz now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Asap fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Asap shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Shabazz as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ska Asap. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Horrible takedown attempt by Asap or perhaps it was just good defense by Shabazz, which made it look bad.
Asap doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Shabazz counters with a lovely shot to the body.
No luck for Asap with that takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shabazz stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Shabazz wants it to stay on the feet.
Ska Asap seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Asap got a little sloppy there for a moment and Shabazz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Asap has managed to get both his arms back between Shabazz's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Shabazz controls Asap momentarily but Asap frees himself.
Asap tries to free his leg and advance position but Shabazz is retaining full guard.

Shabazz is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Shabazz seems a little lost for a moment, as Asap dominates the positioning.

Shabazz gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Well, if Asap is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Shabazz told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Shabazz is looking for a sweep. Asap is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shabazz is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Asap uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Shabazz.
Asap drops down looking for a counter takedown but Shabazz sprawls and moves away.
Asap gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Shabazz counters with a stiff right hand.

and Shabazz counters with a nice uppercut.

Asap shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Shabazz's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mustafa Shabazz will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Asap looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Asap wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shabazz keeps working.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Asap seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Asap closes this distance looking for a takedown but Shabazz circles away.
Shabazz defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Asap.
Shabazz lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Asap bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Asap swings around for an armbar but Shabazz sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Asap's guard.

Ska Asap overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Shabazz wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.

Shabazz has hold of Asap's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Asap manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ska Asap will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Asap shoots in looking for a takedown but Shabazz manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Asap's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Asap with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Shabazz to score with a decent uppercut.
Asap shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shabazz but Shabazz pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Asap ducks under a wild hook from Shabazz.
Asap fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Asap changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shabazz tries to avoid it but Asap manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shabazz to the ground. Shabazz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Shabazz wants to control but Asap is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Asap is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Asap has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Shabazz tries to roll over but Asap keeps him under control.
Asap is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Shabazz!

Asap tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Shabazz tries to reverse the position but Asap maintains control.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ska Asap.
I think Asap has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
