PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Artur Bosko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marty Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Artur Bosko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marty Peterson!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peterson throws a left and a right that both miss

and Bosko counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Peterson!
Bosko wants to control but Peterson is keeping him busy.

Bosko has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Bosko decides to stand back up. Bosko steps back and let's Peterson get back to his feet.

Bosko is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Bosko decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Bosko knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Peterson on the ground.
Peterson wants to control but Bosko is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Peterson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bosko.
Bosko avoids a punch combination nicely.
Peterson looks to land a combination. Bosko sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Bosko shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Bosko was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Peterson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bosko in particular looking to stall.
Bosko is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Peterson is not content to let Bosko control the position.
Peterson is trying to stand up here but Bosko is controlling him well.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



A momentary lapse in concentration from Peterson enables Bosko to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Peterson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Bosko stands and steps away. Peterson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Peterson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Bosko just stands there and leans against the cage.

Bosko looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Bosko tries to land a knee to the head but Peterson blocks with his arms.

Peterson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Peterson is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Peterson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Bosko throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Peterson was covering up waiting for the punch and Bosko finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Peterson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Bosko is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Peterson is looking for a triangle but Bosko pushes his legs off easily.

Peterson is trying to maintain a safe position but Bosko gets an underhook and turns Peterson into the cage.

Bosko wants to get back to striking at distance but Peterson won't allow it.

Peterson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bosko is working away from the top position though.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bosko, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
