Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Evander Holyshit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Llewelyn Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Holyshit kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is You're gonna die!. Carter has chosen Scooter - Fire as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Llewelyn Carter was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter throws a right and a left that both miss.
Holyshit feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Holyshit misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Holyshit throws a nice head kick!

It looks like Llewelyn Carter has been cut.
Holyshit has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Carter.
Carter scores with a decent looking hook.
Holyshit swings for the body but Carter moves out of range.
Carter throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Carter throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Holyshit.

Carter paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

We've been told by Holyshit's head coaches at HK13 LA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Carter ducks under a wild hook from Holyshit.
Evander Holyshit seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Holyshit feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Carter wants to sweep here but Holyshit controlling him for the moment.

Holyshit has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Carter wants to stand and escape but Holyshit is having none of it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Carter keeps Holyshit at a distance using the push kick.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Holyshit throws a low kick but Carter avoids it.
Holyshit goes for a double leg but Carter avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Carter continues to drive forward.
Holyshit takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Carter bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Holyshit is breathing heavily.
Holyshit misses with an uppercut.
Llewelyn Carter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Holyshit scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Holyshit closes the distance and clinches up with Carter, looking for a takedown. Holyshit pushes Carter against the cage but Carter circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Carter connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Holyshit momentarily.

Nice takedown defense from Carter. No joy for Holyshit on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Evander Holyshit. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Carter scores with a leg kick.
Holyshit throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Carter's waist but Carter gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Holyshit off to one side.
Holyshit swings away with a body shot that misses
and Carter cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Carter lands a big right hand that sends Holyshit crashing to the mat! Carter stays standing though and waves Holyshit back to his feet!

Evander Holyshit's cut is getting worse.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Carter throws a quick inside leg kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Carter. Holyshit does a little dance to reset his feet.

Carter misses with a two punch combination.
Holyshit misses with a jab to the body

and Carter counters with a nice right hand that sends Holyshit toppling to the canvas! Holyshit scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Carter finish him?!

Holyshit is rocked!
Carter cracks Holyshit's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Holyshit slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Carter can do further damage! This one is done, son!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Llewelyn Carter!
Llewelyn Carter decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
