PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Willian Johns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Snake Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Willian Johns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Snake Jackson!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johns shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Jackson trying to control here.
Johns will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Johns thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jackson's head.
Jackson is looking to improve his position.
Johns not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Jackson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Jackson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Johns doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Johns manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johns in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jackson isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Johns stacks Jackson on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Johns!
Jackson is looking for a sweep.

Jackson is trying to control Johns's posture but Johns avoids it.
Jackson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Johns wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Johns working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Jackson is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Johns prevents Jackson from improving his position.
Jackson regains full guard. Nicely done.

Johns is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Johns is working Jackson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Johns knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jackson on the ground.
Jackson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Johns throwing strikes from guard but Jackson blocks nicely.
Johns postures up.
Johns really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jackson looks winded!

Johns chips away with some ground and pound.
Johns keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jackson's head.
Johns wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
Jackson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Jackson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Johns's guard.
Johns tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Jackson has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Johns tries to hold on but Jackson pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Jackson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Johns can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Jackson has hold of Johns's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Johns manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Johns looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Johns rolls, trying to escape but Jackson keeps control of the position.
Jackson wants to control but Johns is keeping busy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Jackson is working for a rear naked choke. Johns is not defending it well and Jackson has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Johns refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Johns's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Snake Jackson!
