Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rosario Pierce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor McCane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Victor McCane has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rosario Pierce!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Victor McCane!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McCane drives through with a takedown into guard.
Pierce wants to get back to his feet but McCane is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
McCane with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
McCane postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Pierce preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
McCane throws a big elbow that misses.

Pierce has his foot on McCane's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McCane works his way back into a safe position though.
Pierce keeping full guard, as McCane tries to pass.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McCane throwing strikes but missing.
Pierce thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pierce utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
McCane wants to pass the guard but Pierce is keeping the position.

McCane has gone for a leg lock! Pierce slips out almost immediately though and dives into McCane's guard.

Pierce wants to stand but McCane has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
McCane wants to sweep here but Pierce controlling him for the moment.
McCane working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Pierce.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Pierce gets to his feet. McCane looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
McCane tries to clinch but Pierce moves away
letting Pierce counter with a right hand.
McCane shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pierce as he avoids it easily.
Pierce feinted with a counter takedown.
McCane connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

McCane drives through and clinches with Pierce against the cage.
Pierce tries to circle away but McCane has him pinned against the cage.
Pierce fails to pull guard.

McCane pulls guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pierce throwing strikes but missing.
Pierce wants to stand and escape but instead McCane has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

McCane throws a big right hand that misses.
McCane throws a strike but Pierce rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Pierce wants to stand but McCane has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Pierce trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McCane has a closed guard, preventing Pierce from standing up.
Pierce lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Pierce throws a strike but McCane rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

McCane slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Pierce tries to bench press McCane off him but McCane keeps the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Victor McCane dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


McCane tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pierce manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A looping hook to the body misses from Pierce. McCane does a little dance to reset his feet.
McCane goes for a double leg but Pierce avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Pierce continues to drive forward.
McCane on the wrong end of a nice hook.
McCane moves in looking to clinch but Pierce pushes him off.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McCane gets a clinch.
McCane tries to pull guard but Pierce holds him up against the cage and eventually McCane drops back down to his feet.

McCane has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Pierce uses from the top position.

Pierce has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of McCane is proving hard to escape from.
McCane looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pierce is one step ahead there.
Pierce wants to get up but he can't break McCane's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
McCane is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
McCane has a closed guard, preventing Pierce from standing up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Pierce closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming McCane to the mat! McCane manages to get full guard.
Pierce wanted to stand there but McCane had control of the position.

McCane had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pierce defends it easily.

McCane working for a triangle but Pierce defends it easily.
Pierce would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pierce postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Pierce wants to stand but McCane is controlling his posture from full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Pierce keeps the fight on the outside.
Pierce is looking to counter punch.
Pierce scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
McCane darts in trying to clinch
enabling Pierce to counter with a crisp jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rosario Pierce dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


McCane wants to clinch

and Pierce counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Pierce content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Pierce decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
No joy there for Pierce, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
McCane changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

McCane shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

McCane drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Pierce manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now McCane has Pierce in his guard.

Pierce missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Pierce stands and steps away. McCane gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

McCane rushes Pierce and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Pierce breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
McCane blocks a head kick by Pierce.
McCane with the counter takedown but Pierce avoids it easily.
Pierce lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
A nice combination there by Pierce.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McCane darts in trying to clinch

and Pierce decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in McCane's guard.
McCane looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Pierce gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
A kick lands to the mid section there for McCane.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McCane throws a body kick that misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Pierce bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Pierce swings around for an armbar but McCane sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Pierce's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Pierce is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Pierce is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
McCane advances position into side control!
McCane works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McCane tries to move into full mount but can't pass Pierce's legs.
McCane throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Pierce works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
McCane lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
McCane working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Rosario Pierce overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

McCane is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pierce is just riding it out for now. McCane eventually gives up the hold.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rosario Pierce showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Pierce has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
