Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Noel Cooley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric McCollum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Noel Cooley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric McCollum!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Franklyn Lucas and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McCollum gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Cooley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

McCollum jumps guard.
McCollum is trying to control the position from the bottom.

McCollum looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McCollum trying to keep a closed guard but Cooley is proving a slippery customer.

McCollum is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
McCollum keeping moving, preventing Cooley from controlling successfully.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

McCollum dives in and scores a takedown into Cooley's guard.
McCollum wants to pass the guard but Cooley is keeping the position.
McCollum looking to sit in guard and control but Cooley gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

McCollum trying to keep a closed guard but Cooley is proving a slippery customer.

McCollum uses the cage to get back to his feet.
McCollum tries to clinch there but Cooley circles away.
Cooley tries to counter by moving into the clinch but McCollum manages to circle out of the way.

Cooley gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows McCollum to score an easy takedown into full guard.
McCollum throws an elbow that misses. Cooley uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in McCollum's guard. Nice move by Cooley!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cooley tries to free his leg and advance position but McCollum is retaining full guard.

Cooley won't allow McCollum to sweep him here.
McCollum bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cooley's guard.


Cooley looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Cooley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McCollum manages to get himself to full guard.


McCollum uses the cage to get back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

McCollum closes the distance and clinches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric McCollum dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Cooley shoots for a takedown but McCollum saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
McCollum lands a lovely overhand right.


It looks like Noel Cooley has been cut.

McCollum clinches with his opponent.
Still in the clinch, McCollum scores with a nice short uppercut.
Cooley tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
McCollum stalls.

McCollum jumps guard and drags Cooley to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
McCollum has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McCollum lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Cooley seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

McCollum trying to control but Cooley is working from the bottom.
Cooley wants to stand but McCollum is controlling the position.
Cooley wants to hit a switch here but McCollum passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Cooley there!

McCollum is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Cooley can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Cooley tries to hold on but McCollum postures up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
McCollum tries to control but Cooley wriggling away.
Cooley keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
McCollum wants to control the pace but Cooley is squirming around nicely.
McCollum thowing shots but they're missing.
McCollum looking to control but Cooley is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Cooley sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Cooley is trying to maintain the position but McCollum is very close to passing his half guard.
Cooley is looking for a sweep. McCollum is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
McCollum thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cooley's head.
McCollum is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Cooley manages to get to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McCollum stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Cooley blocks a head kick by McCollum.
Cooley wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

McCollum closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Cooley drops to a knee looking for a takedown but McCollum gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Noel Cooley. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cooley goes for a takedown attempt but McCollum pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

McCollum scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Cooley is trying to get back to full guard.

Eric McCollum showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



McCollum shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cooley napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Cooley is not content to let McCollum control the position.

McCollum wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cooley, who protects the arm well.
McCollum gets to mount! Cooley was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Cooley wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Cooley can't escape the position.
Cooley is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
McCollum avoids the attempt from Cooley to control.
McCollum trying to control but he's not successful this time.
McCollum is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Cooley has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
Cooley prevents McCollum from getting a body triangle.
Eric McCollum has got the better of the ground game so far.

McCollum is persistently looking for the submission but Cooley is defending it well.
Cooley manages to reverse the position and now he's in McCollum's guard. Nice work there by Cooley.

McCollum working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Cooley has passed into half guard!
McCollum has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cooley is working away from the top position though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Cooley seems to be looking for submissions.
McCollum is looking for a sweep. Cooley is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
McCollum keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Cooley perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
McCollum trying to control but Cooley postures up.
McCollum wants to improve his position but Cooley is controlling well.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
McCollum wants to get back to his feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

McCollum closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cooley to the mat! Cooley manages to get full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cooley is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Noel Cooley has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Eric McCollum is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Eric McCollum comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well McCollum has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
