Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergei Garkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spartak Yuri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garkov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Yuri is trying to improve his position.
Garkov takes a little break here. Yuri wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Garkov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Yuri is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Yuri felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Garkov creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Yuri takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Garkov content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Garkov tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Garkov postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Yuri looks a forlorn figure.
