The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A solid leg kick lands there for Polichev.
Polichev digs a good body shot into Franklin's ribs.
Franklin shoots in but Polichev avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Polichev misses with a few strikes there.
Polichev throws a shot from downtown. Franklin moves away and avoids it.
Franklin is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
A big left from Polichev misses.
Polichev tried to score with a low kick but Franklin checks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Franklin shoots for a double leg takedown but Polichev sprawls well. He's pushed Franklin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Franklin takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Franklin uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Polichev.
Franklin gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Polichev scores with the left hand. Franklin knows he should have avoided that one.

Franklin dodges the punch combination from Polichev.
Franklin shoots in for a takedown but Polichev shows good takedown defense.
Ivan Polichev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Franklin.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Polichev! Franklin is out on his feet! Polichev rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Franklin is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Franklin is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
