Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Telo Castillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Yuas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Telo Castillo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Carl Yuas!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Castillo moves in looking to clinch but Yuas pushes him off.
Yuas circles away from the clinch attempt

and Yuas counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Yuas controlling the action here.
Castillo wants to control but Yuas is keeping busy.

Yuas stands up out of the half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Yuas changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Castillo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Castillo prevents Yuas from moving into mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Yuas controlling the position from side mount.
Let's hope that Yuas has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Yuas is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Castillo is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Yuas cracks Castillo with a big elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Castillo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Castillo trying to remain calm as Yuas controls from the top position.
Castillo wants to control but Yuas postures up.

Yuas is trying to get an arm triangle but Castillo is defending well.
Castillo is trying to control Yuas's posture but Yuas avoids it.
Castillo is looking to get back to his feet here but Yuas is keeping cool and he's managed to take Castillo's back.
Yuas has good solid back control here.

Yuas not allowing Castillo to control his hands.
Yuas has the hooks in. Castillo is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Yuas is riding his opponent, not letting Castillo buck him off.
Yuas controlling well, preventing Castillo from escaping the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Castillo is trying to get back to his feet but Yuas has full control of the position and if anything, Castillo has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Yuas is punishing Castillo with strikes - can he finish him?!

Yuas looking for the choke but no joy.
Yuas really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Castillo.
Yuas lands punches and elbows.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Castillo trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Castillo wants to clinch.

Yuas has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Yuas breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Yuas drives through with a takedown into guard.

Yuas tries to free his leg and advance position but Castillo is retaining full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Yuas stands up from Castillo's guard - Yuas perhaps looking for a knockout.
Castillo tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Yuas counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Castillo is looking to control Yuas's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Castillo avoid being mounted?
Yuas seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Yuas is continuing to stall.

Yuas decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Castillo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Yuas manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Castillo is looking to clinch.
Yuas circles away from the clinch attempt

and Yuas counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Yuas sitting in guard here, content to control.
Castillo wants to stand up but Yuas is controlling him.
Yuas with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Castillo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Yuas seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Yuas with a flurry of punches that miss.
Castillo trying to keep a closed guard but Yuas is proving a slippery customer.
Castillo is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Yuas is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Castillo tries to clinch

and Yuas counters with a takedown into side control.
Yuas lands an elbow.
Yuas controlling from side mount.

Yuas throws a strike aimed at the side of Castillo's head but Castillo avoids it well.
Yuas happy to just control the position for now.
Yuas is chipping away with strikes.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Yuas decides to stand back up. Yuas steps back and let's Castillo get back to his feet.
Telo Castillo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Castillo tries to clinch up but Yuas circles away and keeps his distance.
Yuas keeps the fight on the outside.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carl Yuas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



The fight moves into the clinch position.

Yuas's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Castillo clinches.
Castillo comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Yuas taking a breather.
Yuas looking to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Yuas wants the takedown. Castillo is fighting it off but Yuas persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Castillo's guard against the cage.
Castillo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Castillo wants to stand and escape but Yuas is having none of it.

Yuas is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Yuas.
Yuas pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Castillo is keeping the position for now.
Yuas controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Yuas lands a couple of digs.
Castillo trying to keep a closed guard but Yuas is proving a slippery customer.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

and Yuas counters with a single leg into guard. Castillo didn't expect that.
Castillo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Yuas showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Yuas throwing strikes but missing.
Castillo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Yuas controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Yuas sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Yuas loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Yuas looking to pass the guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Castillo tries to clinch up.

Castillo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Yuas postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Castillo is looking to stand up but Yuas isn't so interested in that idea.
Yuas advances position into side control!
Telo Castillo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Yuas stands up and beckons Castillo to his feet.

Yuas scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Yuas in particular looking to stall.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Yuas blocks the strikes from Castillo.

And that's the end of the fight!
Carl Yuas comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Yuas winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
