PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hashim Jalilul Hassan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yonsil Clanger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clanger is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Youth Blood. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hashim Jalilul Hassan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 38 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Yonsil Clanger!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clanger misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hassan fails to land with a series of punches.
Clanger with the counter takedown but Hassan avoids it easily.
A big right from Clanger misses.
Clanger pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hassan seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Hassan stalks Clanger and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Clanger's face. Clanger staggers backwards, shaken.
Hassan swinging wildly here.
Hassan throws a head kick but Clanger moves out of range.
Hassan blocks a jab.
Hassan tries to move into range but Clanger moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Clanger dodges the punch combination from Hassan.
Clanger misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hassan.
Hassan moves out of range of the strikes.
Hassan misses with a wild combination.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sloppy strikes from Hassan. Those never looked like landing.
Clanger lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Clanger drives through with a takedown into Hassan's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Clanger is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Clanger throws a strike but Hassan rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Clanger is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Clanger has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Clanger had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hassan defends it easily.
Hassan lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Hassan keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Clanger's head.
Clanger looking for a sweep. Not yet Clanger, not yet.

Clanger has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hassan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hassan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Hassan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Clanger is proving hard to escape from.
Hassan won't allow Clanger to sweep him here.
Clanger is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Hassan stands up over Clanger, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Hassan wants to control from the top but Clanger keeps moving.

Hassan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hassan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Clanger is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hassan throws an elbow that misses. Clanger uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hassan's guard. Nice move by Clanger!

Clanger won't allow Hassan to sweep him here.
Hassan has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Hassan is trying to keep Clanger in close.
Clanger working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Hassan is pulling down on Clanger's head to control his posture.
Clanger throwing strikes but missing.
Hassan wants to stand but Clanger is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Hashim Jalilul Hassan will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Clanger throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hashim Jalilul Hassan is winning the standup battle so far.
A telegraphed right hand from Hassan misses the target.
Clanger misses with a wild body shot.
Hassan throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hassan will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Clanger slips a jab and a cross from Hassan.
Hassan throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Clanger tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Clanger takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Hassan throws a series of punches but Clanger moves out of range.
A telegraphed right hand from Clanger misses the target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hassan lands with a cross.
Hassan connects with the punch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A punch lands to the side of Hassan 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Hassan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hassan lands a front kick.
Hassan throws a nice looking combination but Clanger bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Hassan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Clanger can do to turn this around?

Hassan throws a solid leg kick but Clanger takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Hassan.

Hassan is rocked!
Clanger works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Oh Hassan is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Clanger tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
My spies in Ultimate MMA Training Center inform me that Clanger has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Clanger lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

A big shot lands for Clanger! That's hurt Hassan! Will he recover? Clanger fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

During a confident post fight interview, Yonsil Clanger thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
