PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kelly Heath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Joy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joy goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Heath changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Joy looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Heath tries to score with some ground and pound. Joy controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Joy manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Heath is pressing down on Joy's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Heath has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Joy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Heath knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Joy on the ground.
Joy pushing down on Heath's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Joy throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Joy lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Joy seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Joy wants to pass to mount but Heath is defending the position.
Joy works his way into full mount!
Joy trying to control but Heath is having none of it.

Joy moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Heath has worked his arm free - good work by Heath!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Joy stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Joy scores with a jab to the head.

It looks like Kelly Heath has been cut.
Joy closes this distance looking for a takedown but Heath circles away.
Joy has a takedown stuffed.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Heath unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Heath on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Heath tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Joy's elbow.

Heath pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Heath on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Joy. Joy obviously looking to wear him down.
Joy throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Heath.
Heath tries to clinch but Joy is having none of it.
A punch combination from Joy misses.
Heath tries to counter by clinching up but Joy breaks away and moves out of range.

and Heath counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Kelly Heath has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jay Joy.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Joy lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Heath has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Heath and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Nice uppercut lands for Joy. That snapped Heath's head back.
Joy closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Heath is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nice sprawl there from Joy as Heath shoots in.
Oh Heath is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Joy lands a brutal head kick. Heath looks out on his feet and Joy throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
