Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steve Fisher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pure Blood!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blood fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Fisher scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Fisher seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Blood does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Blood has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Fisher is working away from the top position though.

Fisher wants to work for an arm triangle but Blood is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Blood misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Blood is looking to clinch but Fisher is avoiding it.

Blood bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Fisher has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Blood goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Fisher rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Blood's guard! Nice work there by Fisher!

Fisher drops back looking for a leg! Blood is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Blood manages to kick Fisher off! Fisher jumps back into Blood's guard.

Blood escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fisher gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Fisher working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Blood's head.

Fisher is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Blood looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Fisher thows a big elbow that misses.
Blood looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Fisher postures up in Blood's guard and throws a big left but Blood blocks it.

Blood has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Fisher is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Blood.

and Fisher counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Blood counters with a shoot takedown. Fisher fights it but they end up in guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Blood stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fisher swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Blood throws a leg kick but Fisher sees it coming and moves out of range.

Blood manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fisher manages to get himself to full guard.

Fisher is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Fisher is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Fisher working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Blood looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Fisher! Submission of the night perhaps?
