The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Luther drives through with a takedown into guard.
Luther connects with a couple of short punches.
Luther must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Luther looking to sit in guard and control but Preston gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Preston postures up.
Luther is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Preston wants to stand but Luther is controlling his posture from full guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Luther can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Luther has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Preston is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Luther.

Preston has an Americana. Luther didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Preston is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Preston hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
