PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmitry Boitsoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Power comes to the cage accompanied by Easy Rider. Boitsoff has chosen My Domination as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Max Power!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 19 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitry Boitsoff!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Paul Tew and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boitsoff throws a lazy right hand but Power sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Boitsoff.

Boitsoff scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Boitsoff in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Power sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Power is staying active underneath Boitsoff, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Boitsoff is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Power to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Boitsoff thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Boitsoff has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Power is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Boitsoff.

Power wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Boitsoff, who protects the arm well.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Boitsoff shoots in and drives through. Power sprawls well.
Power seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Boitsoff tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Power paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Power swings for the body but Boitsoff moves out of range.

I think Boitsoff has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
