Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rob Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerome Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rob Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jerome Carter!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter keeps the fight on the outside.
Walker looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Carter feints and as Walker raises his hands in defense, Carter changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Carter throwing strikes but missing.
Carter thows a big elbow that misses.
Carter landing with the ground and pound.
Carter slips nicely into half guard.
Carter not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Walker is refusing to be controlled, as Carter sits in half guard.
Walker is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carter working over Walker with some ground and pound. Walker looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Carter throwing shots but Walker is blocking nicely.
Carter thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Walker's head.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Carter fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Walker, pushing him back against the cage.
Carter manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Carter.
Carter tries for a takedown. No joy.

Carter turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Carter manages to end up in side control.
Carter happy to just control the position for now.

Carter wants to control but Walker is keeping him busy.
Carter lands a few punches from side control.
Carter postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Carter throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Carter just content to control the position.

Carter working the ground and pound.
Carter cracks Walker with a big right hand but Walker just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Carter wants to control but Walker is keeping him busy.
Carter in side control lands a decent elbow.
Carter is staying tight to Walker's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Carter stands up and beckons Walker to his feet.
Carter cracks a nice hook into Walker's ribs.
Rob Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carter connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Walker slips a jab and a cross from Carter.
Walker needs to keep his hands up - Carter had a free shot at his head there.
Carter misses with a series of wild punches.

Carter darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carter drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Walker stops Carter from passing to mount.
Walker is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Carter is looking to take a break and control but Walker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Carter fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Carter creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Carter scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Walker to see if he's OK.
Jerome Carter has got the better of the ground game so far.

Carter stands up and beckons Walker to his feet.
Rob Walker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Walker avoids a punch combination nicely.
Carter scores with a hook to the body. Walker takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Walker drops his hands momentarily and Carter takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
A right-left combo lands from Carter.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Some wild striking there from Carter.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jerome Carter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Carter's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Carter duly obliges.

Carter moves into the clinch.

Carter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Walker slips a jab and a cross from Carter.

Walker takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Carter clinches with his opponent.
Carter lands a right hand.
A right hook to the body lands for Carter.
Carter scores a nice knee to the body.
Walker prevents a takedown attempt there.

Carter gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Walker blocking the ground and pound attempt from Carter.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Walker wants to improve his position but Carter is controlling well.

Walker is trying to stand back up but Carter is controlling him
Walker is not content to let Carter control the position.
Walker has hold of Carter's hands but Carter slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Walker is defending against the submission attempts here by Carter.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Carter counters with a nice body shot.
Carter shoots for a takedown but Walker saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Walker gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Walker avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Walker will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Carter has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Walker trying to keep a closed guard but Carter is proving a slippery customer.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Walker is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Carter.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Carter drives through with a takedown into guard.

Carter must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Jerome Carter comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Carter has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
