Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Joy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Calvin McGrath!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joy throws a jab when McGrath was well out of range.
McGrath steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Joy.
Joy looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Joy lands a head kick!
McGrath lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

and McGrath counters with a nice double leg into guard.
McGrath throwing strikes from guard but Joy blocks nicely.
McGrath slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
It looks like McGrath might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McGrath forces his way into half guard.
Joy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McGrath on the ground.
Joy wants to control but McGrath is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Joy pushes McGrath off looking to stand but McGrath dives back in and keeps control.
McGrath not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

McGrath is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Joy has managed to free his arm - good work.
Joy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McGrath wants to pass the guard but Joy is defending well.
McGrath frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Joy has left one of his arms exposed and McGrath doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Joy screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Calvin McGrath!
