PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Filiberto Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Ambrose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 1, fighting out of London, Filiberto Cooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Dean Ambrose!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooper tries to clinch up but Ambrose circles away and keeps his distance.
Ambrose scores with a leg kick.
Ambrose shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Cooper counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Nice takedown defense from Cooper. No joy for Ambrose on that attempt.
Cooper shoots in looking for a takedown but Ambrose manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cooper's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Ambrose misses with a double jab.
As Ambrose backs away, Cooper returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cooper is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Ambrose.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Cooper.

Filiberto Cooper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dean Ambrose.
Ambrose tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cooper swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Ambrose wants to control from the top but Cooper keeps moving.

Cooper has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Ambrose postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Cooper thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Ambrose is in close to Cooper's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Ambrose is pushing down on Cooper's leg trying to pass to half guard. Cooper is fighting to maintain full guard but Ambrose has managed to sneak the leg through.

Cooper lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Cooper is rocked!
Cooper could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Ambrose lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Cooper quite badly. Cooper pulls Ambrose in close trying to recover. Ambrose postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Cooper on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Cooper doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dean Ambrose!
