Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tommy DeVito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sub Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Norris has chosen Norris Man - When Your Time Is Up as his entrance music. Tommy DeVito could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Sub Norris's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 11 - 3, fighting out of Sydney, Tommy DeVito!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sub Norris!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeVito connects with a leg kick. Norris looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Norris tries to clinch up.
Norris tries to clinch but fails miserably
and DeVito counters with a slapping leg kick.
Tommy DeVito seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Norris shoots in looking for a takedown. DeVito tries to sprawl out of it but Norris keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. DeVito manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Norris moves out of range as DeVito strikes.
DeVito misses with an uppercut. Norris saw that one coming.

Norris bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Norris tries for a kimura but DeVito is defending well.
Norris trying to control the action but DeVito is working from the bottom.
DeVito defending against the ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on DeVito's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
DeVito tries to buck Norris off but Norris is having none of it.
DeVito is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Norris looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Norris is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, DeVito has escaped the position, nice work there.
Norris is looking to take a break and control but DeVito is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
DeVito struggling a bit here.
DeVito tries to buck Norris off but Norris is having none of it.

Norris tries for a kimura but DeVito is defending well.
DeVito is looking to reverse the position.
DeVito wants to control but Norris postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Norris working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Norris working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Norris tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Norris has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Norris thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
DeVito sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
DeVito moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Norris with a nice head shot there.
Norris trying to control but DeVito is working from the bottom.
Norris throws a big elbow that misses.
DeVito keeping moving, preventing Norris from controlling successfully.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
DeVito shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Norris rushes DeVito and presses him up against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sub Norris dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


DeVito throws a body punch but Norris moves out of range.
Norris doesn't succeed with the takedown
and DeVito counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Norris is lucky that one didn't land flush.
DeVito looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Norris fails with a takedown attempt.
Norris shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and DeVito cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Tommy DeVito has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sub Norris.

Norris closes the distance and clinches.
Norris misses with a punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
DeVito lands with a left to the head.
Norris dodges an elbow strike from DeVito.
Norris will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning DeVito up against the cage.
DeVito lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

DeVito misses with a body punch.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from DeVito.
DeVito makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
DeVito has had enough of the clinch but Norris keeps him there for the moment.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Norris jumps guard but DeVito turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Norris has DeVito pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. DeVito manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Norris lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of DeVito backwards.
A head punch on the inside from DeVito fails to land.
DeVito lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Norris.
Norris tried to land a shot to the body but connects with DeVito's elbow.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.
DeVito is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
DeVito is trying to stall.
Norris tries a body shot but DeVito blocks it.
Norris pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
DeVito is trying to break the clinch but Norris is controlling him.
DeVito is working Norris over against the cage.
Norris scores with a nice hook to the head.
Norris drops down looking for an ankle pick but DeVito pulls his leg out and moves away.
Nice sprawl there from DeVito as Norris shoots in.
DeVito lands a jab to the head.

and Norris decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in DeVito's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now DeVito is on top in guard.


DeVito got a little sloppy there for a moment and Norris has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, DeVito has managed to get both his arms back between Norris's legs - danger averted.

DeVito decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Norris, up you get!
DeVito leaves Norris with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
DeVito throws a quick counter head kick but Norris was just out of range.
Norris misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
It looked like DeVito was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Norris.
Tommy DeVito is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Norris steps to the side to avoid the strikes from DeVito.
Norris moves away from the strike by DeVito.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


DeVito lands a jab to Norris's midsection.
DeVito lands with a shot to the body.
DeVito works the jab nicely.
DeVito connects with a crisp jab.
DeVito throws a leg kick which misses Norris's front leg but catches the back leg as Norris tries to avoid it.
DeVito misses with a head kick.
Norris shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with DeVito but DeVito pushes him off and we're back to square one.
DeVito scoring well with a low kick there.
DeVito is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Norris can do to turn this around?

DeVito manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Norris manages to get himself to full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Norris is trying to control the position but DeVito postures up.
Norris keeping moving, preventing DeVito from controlling successfully.
Norris wants to stand and escape but DeVito is having none of it.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Norris not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

DeVito lands a nice hook to Norris's body. Norris takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Norris shoots in for a takedown but DeVito shows good takedown defense.

Norris takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
DeVito lands a leg kick that knocks Norris off balance momentarily.
DeVito finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
DeVito looks for the body kick but Norris saw that one coming.
DeVito lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Norris tries to clinch up but DeVito circles away and keeps his distance.

Norris doesn't succeed with the takedown
and DeVito counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Norris drives through with a takedown into DeVito's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Norris wants to pass the guard but DeVito is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
DeVito preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
DeVito is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Norris tries to free his leg and advance position but DeVito is retaining full guard.
Norris stands and throws DeVito's legs to the side, diving into side control.
DeVito might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
DeVito is looking to regain half guard here but Norris keeps moving and retains side control.
DeVito wants to control but Norris postures up.
Norris tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tommy DeVito showed his dominance in that final round.
I think DeVito has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
