Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Julio Quanero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kato Masaishii (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Quanero might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to 537 CUBA. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Julio Quanero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kato Masaishii!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quanero misses with the combination.
Quanero rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Masaishii moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Masaishii is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Masaishii.
Quanero definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Quanero is trying to get back to half guard.
Masaishii cracks Quanero with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Quanero is not content to let Masaishii control the position.
Quanero tries to bench press Masaishii off him but Masaishii keeps the position.

Quanero wants to control but Masaishii is having none of it.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Masaishii seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Quanero is holding on tight.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Masaishii is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Masaishii is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Quanero defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
I really don't envy Quanero right now.

Masaishii has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Quanero's body.

Masaishii is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Quanero is defending well though. Masaishii let's go of the attempt for now.
Quanero tries to escape but Masaishii has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kato Masaishii dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Quanero looks to land a combination but Masaishii avoids it well.
A countering left hand to the body from Masaishii misses.

Masaishii manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Quanero on his heels. He'll look to pass Quanero's guard now, I'm sure.

Quanero wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
A lull in the action here.
Quanero is trying to control Masaishii's posture but Masaishii avoids it.

Masaishii has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Quanero manages to reverse the position and now he's in Masaishii's guard. Nice work there by Quanero.

Masaishii looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Quanero is defending well. Masaishii quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Quanero has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Masaishii celebrates on the ropes, with the crowd.
