The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shamrock shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Pugh manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Pugh is pulling down on Shamrock's head. It's preventing any offense from Shamrock, at least for the moment.

Shamrock drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Pugh manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Shamrock has Pugh in his guard.

Shamrock is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pugh is aware though and is defending well.
Shamrock has a closed guard, preventing Pugh from standing up.
Pugh could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shamrock working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pugh doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Shamrock is tightening it up a little... Pugh has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Pugh reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Pugh taps out! Nice BJJ there by Shamrock!
