Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Psycho Chris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshi Suzuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Psycho Chris has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Psycho Chris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Yoshi Suzuki!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Russell Pearce and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Suzuki or perhaps it was just good defense by Chris, which made it look bad.
Chris lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Chris connects with a right hand. Suzuki shakes it off.
Chris shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Suzuki but Suzuki pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Chris uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.


It looks like Yoshi Suzuki has been cut.
Suzuki fails with the takedown.
Suzuki has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Suzuki closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Suzuki lands in his opponent's guard.
Suzuki throws a big elbow that misses.
Suzuki trying to control but Chris is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Suzuki won't allow Chris to get back to his feet.
Suzuki postures up in Chris's guard and throws a big left but Chris blocks it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Suzuki accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Suzuki wants to control from the top but Chris keeps moving.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Chris throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Suzuki tries to counter by closing the distance.
Suzuki fails with a takedown attempt.
Psycho Chris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoshi Suzuki.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Suzuki misses with a takedown attempt - Chris sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Suzuki is defended easily by Chris.
Suzuki drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Chris! Suzuki is out on his feet! Chris rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Suzuki is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Suzuki is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Psycho Chris!
A very excited looking Psycho Chris made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
