Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tonton Hong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tarmo Hovi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hong might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Hong Entrance Song. Hovi comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Vesa-Matti Loiri - Armo kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tarmo Hovi!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Atkins and William Gold.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hovi waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hong.
Hong walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Hong wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
A jab from Hong does it's job there.
Hong stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hovi.
Hong moves in looking to clinch but Hovi pushes him off.
Hovi misses with a hook.
A big left from Hovi misses.
Hovi misses with a body kick.
A bone on bone clash there as Hovi blocks the leg kick.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hovi, as that shot connected.
Hong throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hovi fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Hong clobbers Hovi with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hong walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Hovi checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Hovi changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
A slow jab from Hovi misses its intended target.
Hong is looking to counter the offense by Hovi and move into the clinch.
Hovi wants to land a leg kick but Hong is out of range.

Hong misses with an uppercut. Hovi saw that one coming.
Hovi appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.

Hong lands a big right hand that sends Hovi crashing to the mat! Hong stays standing though and waves Hovi back to his feet!

It looks like Tarmo Hovi has been cut.
Hovi's coach down at Heavy Metal was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hovi's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Hovi tests Hong's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Hovi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Hovi is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hong.
That kick from Hong tenderised Hovi's leg. Hovi is trying to keep his angry face on.

Hong throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hovi avoids the head kick by Hong.
Hong misses with a straight left.
Hovi throws out a counter right but Hong avoids it with no problem.

Hong wants to clinch.
Hong takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Hovi swats away the attempt to clinch by Hong.

Hong takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Oh Hong is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Hovi shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Hovi lands with a nice body punch.
Hovi takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Hovi is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Hong had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Hong lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Hovi swings for the body but Hong moves out of range.

Hovi uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hong.
Hong stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Hovi dodges the punch combination from Hong.
Hovi looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

enabling Hong to counter with a crisp jab.
Hong throws a nice outside leg kick.
A low kick from Hong misses
and Hovi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hong throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Hong will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hong takes a shot to the body in his stride.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hovi throws a low kick but it's checked well by Hong.

Hong throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hovi stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Hong with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hovi to score with a decent uppercut.

Hong is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hong ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hovi moves away.

and Hovi counters with a huge right that knocks Hong out cold! Hovi is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!

A very excited looking Tarmo Hovi rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
