Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jos Rodri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dylan Robbins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dylan Robbins is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jos Rodri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dylan Robbins!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robbins keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Rodri looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Robbins is fending him off so far but Rodri persists. Nope, Robbins circles away and we're back to standing.
Rodri could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Robbins gets a clinch.

Robbins has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Rodri is trying to keep an underhook but Robbins manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Rodri is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Robbins's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Robbins's back!
Robbins looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Rodri misses with a punch to the head.
You can see the frustration on Robbins's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Rodri is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Robbins wants to escape the position.
Robbins prevents Rodri from getting a body triangle.

Rodri looking to break Robbins's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Robbins remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Rodri will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Robbins is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Rodri.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Rodri is trying to stick to Robbins's back but Robbins is turning into Rodri. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Rodri's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Robbins.
Robbins wants to control from the top but Rodri keeps moving.
Robbins is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Rodri has momentary wrist control but Robbins slips an elbow through the middle.

Rodri lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Rodri got a little sloppy there for a moment and Robbins has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rodri has managed to get both his arms back between Robbins's legs - danger averted.

Rodri gets to his feet. Robbins looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Rodri tries to score a power double leg takedown but Robbins sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rodri somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jos Rodri. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rodri will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rodri.
Rodri fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Robbins avoids it really well and circles away.

Jos Rodri seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Robbins dives in and scores a takedown into Rodri's guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Robbins takes the fight into the clinch.
Rodri is working for takedown but Robbins is calmly controlling the position for now.

Robbins decides to pull guard.
Rodri controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Rodri throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Rodri trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Dylan Robbins has got the better of the ground game so far.
Robbins striking off his back but it's not causing Rodri any problems.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rodri wants to get up but he can't break Robbins's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Rodri prevents Robbins from getting back to his feet.
Rodri postures up in Robbins's guard and throws a big left but Robbins blocks it.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Rodri postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Rodri shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rodri shoots in looking for a takedown. Robbins tries to sprawl out of it but Rodri keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Robbins manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jos Rodri. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Robbins closes the distance and clinches.
Rodri is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Robbins to keep the fight standing.

Rodri has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Robbins uses from the top position.
Robbins must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Rodri uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Jos Rodri is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Robbins feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Robbins swings around for an armbar but Rodri sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Robbins's guard.

Rodri is thwarting Robbins's attempts to control the position.

Robbins is looking to get back to is feet but Rodri passes into side control.

Rodri has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Robbins misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rodri looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Rodri tries to clinch but Robbins is having none of it.
Robbins throws a right hand that Rodri ducks under and follows up with a left that Rodri also avoids with ease.

Robbins feints and as Rodri raises his hands in defense, Robbins changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rodri is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Robbins wants to improve his position but Rodri is controlling well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dylan Robbins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Rodri tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Robbins manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Robbins really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rodri. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rodri sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Robbins wants to free his trapped foot but Rodri is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Rodri gets full guard.
Rodri wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rodri is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Rodri looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Rodri pulls Robbins in close to prevent any damage.
Robbins trying to control the position from guard on top but Rodri is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Robbins just misses with a punch to the body.
Robbins stuffs the takedown attempt from Rodri. Rodri gets slowly back to his feet.

Robbins shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rodri manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Robbins avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rodri is trying to hold Robbins in close to prevent damage but Robbins has managed to pass into half guard.

Robbins is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Rodri has managed to free his arm - good work.
Rodri is trying to get back to full guard.

Robbins decides to return to a standing position.
Rodri tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Robbins defends well and Rodri ends up having to push Robbins into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Rodri gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Robbins stands up and waves to Rodri to follow him.
Rodri fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
As Rodri backs off Robbins throws a huge counter combo but Rodri manages to avoid it all.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jos Rodri. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Robbins closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Rodri is refusing to be controlled, as Robbins sits in half guard.
Robbins might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Rodri haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Dylan Robbins comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Robbins has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
