Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Granger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Granger has chosen This Fire Burns as his entrance music. Andrew Morgan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrew Morgan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, James Granger!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Granger throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Morgan was covering up waiting for the punch and Granger finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Granger postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Morgan is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Granger, into his guard.

Granger has a closed guard, preventing Morgan from standing up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Granger is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Granger looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Morgan wants to stand but Granger is controlling his posture from full guard.

Morgan decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Morgan lands with a nice body punch.
Granger throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Morgan's waist but Morgan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Granger off to one side.
A quick step to the side and Morgan tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Granger takes a jab right on the kisser.
Morgan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Morgan wants it to stay on the feet.
Morgan seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Granger walks into a straight right hand from Morgan.

Andrew Morgan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Granger.
Morgan's jab looks to have found its range, popping Granger under the eye.


Granger is rocked!
Granger is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Granger drives through with a takedown into Morgan's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Morgan keeping moving, preventing Granger from controlling successfully.
Morgan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Granger is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Granger thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Granger is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Granger trying to control the position from guard on top but Morgan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Morgan wants to stand but Granger is controlling the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Morgan with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Granger looks for a takedown but Morgan sprawls well.
Granger takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Granger's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Morgan connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Granger scrambles back to his feet.

Granger has taken the fight to the clinch.
Granger tries to pull guard but Morgan won't allow it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Morgan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Morgan feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Grangers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Morgan dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Morgan ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Granger tries to close the distance and clinch up but Morgan swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Morgan circles away from the clinch attempt
and Morgan counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Granger shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Morgan sprawls well. Morgan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Granger gets slowly back to his feet.
Morgan works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Granger shoots in looking for a takedown. Morgan tries to sprawl out of it but Granger keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Morgan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andrew Morgan dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Granger walks straight into a right hand from Morgan - that's dropped him! Morgan jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Granger from any more punishment! Granger complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Andrew Morgan!
