Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elliott Howe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bertrand Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bertrand Jones will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Elliott Howe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bertrand Jones!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Steve Montenegro and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Howe as Jones shoots in.
Jones looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Howe's waist but Howe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones off to one side.
Jones shoots in looking for a takedown but Howe manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jones's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Elliott Howe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bertrand Jones.
Howe looks to land a left hand but Jones moved out of range nicely.

Howe has closed the distance and engaged Jones in a clinch.
Howe tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Jones has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Howe is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Howe for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

Howe gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Howe is looking to stand up but Jones won't let him.

Jones is working an open guard so Howe takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Howe sprawls well. Howe wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.

Howe gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Howe manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Jones throws a strike but Howe rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Howe digs a right hand into Jones's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Jones's gas tank.

Howe is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Howe is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jones can do to turn this around?

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jones blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Howe has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jones uses from the top position.
Howe is looking to stand up but Jones isn't so interested in that idea.
