Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Woody May (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vapun Aukio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). May comes to the cage accompanied by Watch you Bleed by FFDP. Aukio is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by 2CELLOS (Sulic & Hauser) - Smooth Criminal. Woody May has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 7 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Woody May! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vapun Aukio! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! May is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Aukio. Aukio looks like he wants to counter punch here. We've been hearing reports that May has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Aukio lands an overhand right. A telegraphed right hand from Aukio misses the target. May just misses with a punch to the body.
Aukio throws a looping overhand right but May ducks down to avoid it. Aukio misses with a straight left. May lands a nice hook to Aukio's body. Aukio takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. May lands a jab to Aukio's midsection. Woody May seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Aukio thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. May is pressing down on Aukio's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
That's one minute gone in the round. May preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Aukio drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Aukio jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Aukio throws an elbow that misses. May uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Aukio's guard. Nice move by May! Aukio looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Aukio is still trying to improve position. Aukio seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. May's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aukio looking to hit a scissor sweep but May is one step ahead there. Aukio not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
May has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. May won't allow Aukio to sweep him here. May really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Aukio managing to control the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Aukio shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. May is trying to defend but Aukio finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. May has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Aukio is working away from the top position though.

That's four minutes gone in the round. May has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Aukio is working away from the top position though. Aukio throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Aukio is looking for a kimura but May is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Aukio to get the leverage. May wants to control but Aukio is keeping busy and won't allow it. Aukio wants to free his trapped foot but May is holding on for dear life with his legs. Aukio missing with the ground and pound from half guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. May is holding on to half guard well.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Aukio misses with a combination
and Aukio takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. May misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
May throws a lazy right hand but Aukio sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. May turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vapun Aukio dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
May tries to clinch up. May defending well as Aukio loads up on a big left hand. May staying out of range there. Aukio throws the left hand but May avoids the punch easily. May gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Aukio counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Aukio swats away the attempt to clinch by May. Aukio swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. May misses with a right hand and Aukio moves into the clinch. Aukio tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Aukio's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. A quick uppercut on the inside from Aukio.

Aukio effectively controlling the action here. Aukio receives a warning from the referee for stalling. May is trying to break the clinch but Aukio has him pressed against the cage. Aukio misses with some punches.
May wants to take the fight to the mat but Aukio manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Aukio tries a body shot but May blocks it.
Aukio misses with a short punch on the inside. Aukio is looking for a takedown. May blocks an uppercut.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Aukio turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Aukio manages to end up in side control. Aukio misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Aukio works to advance to full mount. May defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Aukio cracks May with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
May is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Aukio wants to control the pace but May is squirming around nicely. Aukio lands with some vicious ground and pound - can May hang on? Vapun Aukio has got the better of the ground game so far. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Aukio lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. May is working to get back to half guard.
Aukio has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Aukio thowing shots but they're missing.

May is rocked! Aukio lands a couple of good shots and May has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Oh May is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Aukio lands a series of strikes from the back and May goes limp! The ref jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vapun Aukio! Vapun Aukio was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed. Woody May was interviewed post fight and said 'All or Nothing. K.O. or be K.Oed'.
