Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Diego Costa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dragan Draksic!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Phil Schofield and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Draksic throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
It looks like Diego Costa has been cut.
The fight stays on the outside here - Draksic looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Draksic.
Costa fails with a takedown attempt.
Costa closes this distance looking for a takedown but Draksic circles away.
Costa shoots in for a takedown but Draksic shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diego Costa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Costa avoids the head kick by Draksic.
Costa fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Draksic to the ground. Costa is now in Draksic's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Costa working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Draksic controls Costa momentarily but Costa frees himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Costa is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Draksic looking to hit a scissor sweep but Costa is one step ahead there.
Costa is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Costa stands up over Draksic, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Costa throws a big right hand that misses.
Draksic really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Costa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Costa slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Costa definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Costa trying to control the position from guard on top but Draksic is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Costa makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Costa seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Costa working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Draksic's head.
Draksic looking for a sweep. Not yet Draksic, not yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Costa passes into half guard.
Costa frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Costa is landing with some decent strikes but Draksic is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Costa looking to control and managing it successfully.
Draksic tries to hold on but Costa postures up.
Costa sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Costa with a couple of short strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Costa takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
A nice elbow there by Costa.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Costa lands a big shot there that rocks Draksic but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Costa working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Draksic is rocked!
Costa loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Draksic scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Costa land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Costa stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Diego Costa!
