Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darcus Washington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mietek Wegorz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darcus Washington!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mietek Wegorz!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Washington looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Washington throws out a leg kick but Wegorz moves out of range and Washington only half commits.
Wegorz wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Washington misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Washington fails with the takedown
and Wegorz counters with a left and a right that stings Washington.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darcus Washington. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Washington shoots in but no luck this time.

Washington decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Washington uses his free foot to push down on Wegorz's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Wegorz.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Wegorz has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Washington is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Washington tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wegorz paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Washington has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Wegorz clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Washington is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Wegorz is defending well though. Washington let's go of the attempt for now.
Darcus Washington overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Washington controlling the positon.

Washington is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Washington goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Wegorz escapes and is now in half guard on top.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Wegorz in particular looking to stall.

Washington shoots in looking for a takedown. Wegorz tries to sprawl out of it but Washington keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wegorz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Wegorz's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Wegorz duly obliges.

Wegorz throws a nice looking combination but Washington bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Washington shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wegorz's guard.
Washington is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Mietek Wegorz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
