Mercado throws a sloppy head kick and Budlung moves out of range easily.

Mercado is trying to push Budlung away but Budlung has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Mercado wants to break the clinch but can't.

Mercado wants to get back to striking at distance but Budlung won't allow it.
Mercado is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Budlung to keep the fight standing.

Mercado tries to circle away but Budlung has him pinned against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Budlung is pressed up against the cage. Mercado has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Budlung down to the mat. Budlung avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Budlung closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Budlung has Mercado pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Mercado is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Budlung - that's hurt Mercado badly! Oh, another knee lands and Mercado is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Mercado doesn't seem to be complaining.
